Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify factors influencing quality of life of caregivers using day care services. Methods: Data were collected from 14 different day care services in D city, with a total of 146 female caregivers as participants. All participants were at home caregivers whose patients were senior citizens older than 65. Data were collected from September 1 to 30 of 2008 and analyzed by t-test, ANOVA, Pearson`s correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression. Results: Quality of life among caregivers of day care services differed significantly according to state of health, other caregivers, job, and family income. Quality of life among caregivers showed correlation with caregiving burden. The significant predictors affecting quality of life were state of health, other caregivers, job, and family income and caregiving burden. A combination of these predictors accounted for 43.5% of the variance in quality of life. Conclusion: These findings show that quality of life of family caregivers using day care services is influenced by caregiving burden. Development of day care service programs is necessary in order to reduce caregiving burden of family caregivers for the elderly.

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to compare the effect of aroma hand massage with hand massage without aroma on well-being of hospice patients. Methods: The design of this study is a quasi-experimental design. Data collection was conducted from May to December, 2012. Sixteen subjects were participated in the experimental group (aroma hand massage) and thirteen were paticipated in the control group (hand massage without aroma). The essential oil for aroma therapy was composed with 1% of Lavender and Bergamot. The aroma hand massage for the experimental group and hand massage for the control group were provided at 9 pm once a day for five days in a row. Subjects` characteristics and well-being were measured. To test the effect of aroma therapy a t-test was used with SPSS WIN 18.0. Results: There was no difference on well-being between aroma hand massage only group and hand massage group (t=1.90, p=.068). Conclusion: To develop aroma therapy to improve well-being for hospice patients, does not show that hand massage with aroma oil is superior them hand massage only for hospice patients. we recommend further studies to consider patients` preferences to aroma essential oil, aroma concentration and the time to provide aroma therapy need to be assessed.

Abstract
Purpose: This study was conducted to investigate how information using leaflet will affect anxiety of inpatients undergoing endoscopic examination. Methods: Non-equivalent control group with a pre-post test design was used. Subjects were selected from inpatients of D hospital in B city for endoscopic examination from May 1 to July 31, 2009. Forty subjects were assigned to either control or experimental group. The Leaflet developed by authors was used as an educational material. Johnson`s visual analogue scale, blood pressure, and pulse were used to measure anxiety. Results: The experimental group informed with the leaflet showed less subjective anxiety than control group without the leaflet (p=.008). Experimental group informed with the leaflet showed less objective anxiety measured by systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, and heart rate than control group without the leaflet (p=.004, .014, and .009, respectively). Conclusion: Giving information using leaflet to the patient before endoscopy may be applicable as a nursing intervention to reduce anxiety. Further studies are needed to generalize the results of this study.

Methods: The study population consisted of 493 nurses from eight general hospitals in B city. Data collection was done from June 1 to July 31, 2012. The Perception for Multicultural Family Inventory developed by Jun and Kim (2010) was used as the study instrument. The collected data were analyzed by t-test and ANOVA using SPSS/WIN version12.0. Results: Perception of nurses for multicultural families was 3.64 points out of 5. Most of the nurses considered that multicultural education is necessary. However, there were only a small number of nurses received training on multiculturalism. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that education and support on multiculturalism for nurses are needed to improve health related quality of life for the multicultural families.

Abstract
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the level of knowledge, health belief, and self-efficacy affecting on breast self-examination (BSE), and to identify factors influencing the practice of BSE of women in their 30`s and 40`s. Methods: With a correlation survey design, 194 women in their 30`s and 40`s were recruited at 4 culture centers in Busan via convenience sampling. Measures were included with knowledge, health belief, and self-efficacy for breast self-examination and level of BSE practice. Results: Level of knowledge, health belief and self-efficacy for BSE were greater than medium level. BSE practice had positive correlations with subscales of health belief, except barrier and self-efficacy, but no relationship with knowledge. Self-efficacy, sensitivity, and benefit among the entered variables were significant factors influencing the practice of BSE, and explanatory power of these variables was 32.8%. Conclusion: Based on this study, studies are required to compare through repeated research according to age, education, occupation, environmental characteristics. In addition, to maximize the educational effect, development of the educational program in conjunction with the local community to increase breast self-examination practice and research about the effectiveness are needed.

Abstract
Purpose: An objective of this study was to investigate nurses` perceptions toward patient safety culture and to examine the factors affecting safety care activities. Methods: The participants were 429 nurses, at 6 hospitals located in regions, which have 150 to 300 beds, and HSOPSC (AHRQ, 2009) and questionnaire on safety care activities were used as measurement tools. Descriptive statistics, independent t-test, one way ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS/WIN version12.0 were used to analyze the data. Results: Supervisor?manager expectations and actions promoting patients safety and frequency of events reported were the highest as positive responses, whereas staffing and nonpunitive response to errors showed the lowest scores as positive responses. Scores of medication surveillance is the highest while firefighting surveillance is the lowest in terms of safety care activities. Significant predictors influencing safety care activities were frequency of events report, handoffs and transitions, work unit a patient safety grade, organizational learning continuous improvement, and teamwork across units. These predictors account for 23% of the variance. Conclusion: These results suggest that hospital policies and systems should be built to settle patient safety culture effectively. Development of standard manuals for safety care activities is another critical element for promoting patient safety.

Abstract
Purpose: This study was performed to provide basic data for nursing intervention plan to improve health related to task by examining whether nurses` burnout is related with job stress, job satisfaction, social support, and self efficacy in hospitals. Methods: The participants were 320 nurses who work at 5 different university hospitals with individual agreement for this study. The questionnaire were provided to the subjects. Data analysis was done by Pearson correlation coefficient and multiple regression were used. Results: Estimated regression model of burnout of nurses was statistically significant (F=119.88, p<.001). Major factors which affect burnout of nurses were job stress (β=.54), job satisfaction (β=-.31), and social support (β=-.20) which explained 53.4% of burnout of nurse. As a result of examining the assumption of the regression, all results were satisfactory with the assumption of the regression equation. Conclusion: Based on the results of the study, It is nacessary to reduce job stress and increse job satisfaction and social support in order to reduce burnout of nurse. Job stress management may be needed mostly because job stress was the highest level of prediction against burnout.
